Our Electric Motor Repair Process
1. Enquiry
Your enquiry is the start of the process. You can either get in touch via email or pick up the phone and call us during the day. We may ask you some questions about the motor, pertaining to how it’s been used, how old it is, whether it’s any work done on it recently, and what environment it’s being kept in. The answers to these questions will help give us an insight into what the issue could be. We’ll then give you an initial quotation based on our assessment.
2. Collection of the motor
We’ll arrange to pick up the motor for free if you’re local to us, or if you’re further afield, we’ll arrange a courier to transport your motor (you’re also welcome to drop off the motor to our workshop yourself). If we use a courier, then the cost for this will be added to your final quotation.
3. Dismantling
Once the electric motor is in our workshop, our team will get to work dismantling it, so that we can get a complete understanding of what the issue is. Once stripped, all components of your motor are carefully inspected by one of our expert technicians. Once inspected and any faults identified, we’ll be able to recommend the correct course of action and any adjustment to your quotation will be made. We are not obliged to re-assemble items which have been dismantled for quotation purposes only.
4. Repair
Our team will then get on with repairing your motor, we usually have all the parts we need available in-house, but in the eventuality that we don’t, we may have to ship in parts which may increase lead time. After the repairs are completed, all motors are re-balanced and the reassembled to their original specification.
5. Test and Respray
We’ll then test your repaired motor to ensure that any issues have been resolved and that your machine is working within industry standards, under their usual operating conditions. Once testing is complete, the motor is cleaned and re-sprayed, so that it’s ready to be put back to work again. We can then arrange for a trusted courier to deliver the motor back to you, or for you to collect it.
