The Place to Be……56

We are still the place to go for a B56 fractional horsepower motor!! The B56 has been one of our best sellers for some time now! Sometimes referred to as a ‘chip shop’ motor and often found on various types of lathes. The B56 has been a popular UK motor for years, originally made by Brook Crompton as the ‘Cub’ motor and then the ‘Gryphon’ motor. Later made by Tyco as the Brook Crompton B56 and also (apparently) by ourselves as the BFM B56.

The BFM B56 has, however, been manufactured by Crompton Greaves for us all these years. But due to licensing laws and agreements was never allowed to be sold directly into the market as a Crompton Greaves B56. But things have now changed and instead of the B56 having our personal logo on (often preventing customers sending motors direct from our works) they will all be badged as Crompton Greaves UK for whom we are the UK distributor and Service Centre.
