Ratings Explained

The IP Code (or International Protection Rating), consists of the letters IP followed by two digits and an optional letter. It classifies the degrees of protection provided against the intrusion of solid objects (including body parts like hands and fingers), dust, accidental contact, and water in electrical enclosures. IP20 First Digit (Solids) Protected against touch by fingers (>12mm) Second Digit (Liquids) No protection.

Ratings Explained

IP55 Rating means this unit has a protection level of five against solid-body ingress, and a protection level of five against the ingress of water. Five is the second highest protection level against solid bodies, meaning the unit is protected against dust ingress to the point of disallowing harmful deposits. Protection against water ingress goes up to level eight, and five means this unit will be protected against the effects of low-pressure jets of water form any direct.

Nema 12 Type enclosures are intended for industrial indoor use primarily to provide a degree pf protection against dust, falling dirt and dripping noncorrosive liquids.
